Our five-step professional method
Every visit starts with the real condition of the carpet. Here is the typical flow of professional residential carpet cleaning at home:
- 1. Pre-service carpet and fibre inspection: we assess the carpet, fibres, wear, stains and odours, then explain the recommended method.
- 2. Preparation and professional vacuuming: surface preparation, floor protection when needed, and vacuuming to remove dust and dry soil.
- 3. Specialized pre-treatments when needed: when inspection warrants it, an enzyme, oxygen-based or other suitable pre-treatment—always after explanation and with your approval. Timing follows product characteristics and manufacturer guidance.
- 4. Professional steam carpet cleaning, shampooing and hot-water extraction: a coordinated process adapted to the fibres, to lift soil and remove excess moisture. Steam alone is not automatic disinfection of every carpet.
- 5. Rinsing, final extraction, finishing and drying guidance: we complete the process and advise on drying. Drying generally takes a few hours, depending on fibres, humidity and ventilation.

Specialty: carpeted stair cleaning, treads and landings
Carpeted stair cleaning needs a different approach from an open living-room area. Stair treads, noses, risers and landings soil quickly under frequent traffic—this service covers carpeted stairs, not wood or ceramic stair cleaning.
After inspection, our technicians use professional extraction tools suited to each step and landing corner. We treat heavily used areas to lift embedded soil and traffic marks, and restore pile volume where possible.
Truck-mounted and portable professional equipment
We prioritize truck-mounted carpet cleaning equipment for steam cleaning and professional hot-water extraction when access allows.
For high-rise buildings, condos or difficult access, we use portable carpet extraction equipment. Equipment choice depends on access, fibre type and site conditions—portable units provide professional extraction when a truck-mount is not appropriate.
Stains, odours, dust mites and allergens
Depending on the inspection, residential carpet cleaning can address several common situations:
- Human and pet urine stains: related stains and odours, often addressed with an enzymatic pre-treatment or another specialty treatment based on the assessment.
- Pet odours and persistent odours: targeted treatment when the source can be treated on site.
- Food stains, embedded soil and high-traffic areas: an approach adapted to heavily used lanes.
- Dust, dust mites and allergens: deep cleaning helps remove dust and residue present in the fibres.
- Bacteria and specialized disinfectant treatments: when appropriate and fibre-compatible, a disinfectant treatment may be recommended as a complement—it is not automatic.
Enzyme treatments, oxygen-based treatments or disinfectant treatments are presented clearly (recommended, needed based on the assessment, or optional). The technician explains the recommendations and obtains your authorization before any application. These specialty treatments are not automatically included in the base clean and are not all presented as eco-friendly.
Carpet stain protection
After inspection, a fibre-compatible professional stain protector may be offered, especially for stairs and high-traffic areas. It helps slow liquid absorption in daily use, without absolute protection.

Do you treat urine stains and pet odours?
Yes, that is a common request. After inspection, the technician may recommend an enzymatic pre-treatment or another specialty treatment, then proceed with cleaning and extraction. Every additional treatment is explained and applied only with your authorization. Results depend on how old and how deep the stain is.
Does cleaning help with dust mites, allergens and bacteria?
Deep cleaning helps remove dust, soil and residue associated with allergens in the fibres. When appropriate, a disinfectant treatment compatible with the textile may be offered as a complement. Steam alone is not automatic disinfection of every carpet.
Are enzyme, oxygen-based or disinfectant treatments included?
They are not automatic. Depending on the inspection, they may serve as a pre-treatment or a complementary step. The technician explains what is recommended, needed based on the assessment, or optional, then obtains your authorization before any application.
How long does the carpet take to dry?
Drying generally takes a few hours, depending on fibres, room humidity and ventilation. After extraction, the surface is typically slightly damp, not soaked. Good airflow speeds the process.
